Over the slumbering hills
Out of the grasping fog and clouds
Soaring through Night's domain
Morpheus took my hand that night
Led me through halls of sleep
Landscapes unknown just out of reach
Promising boon or bane
Silently stalking worlds of sand
Treading a lake of stone
Swimming through bourbon-colored moons
Bleeding from veins of rust
Kissing a woman silver-eyed
Singing with clowns of gold
Hunting in ruins yet to be
Dreamers flit by like dust
In a world where Time is a feast for men
And Space is an idle curse
Errant sleepers roam through heaven or hell
And the Dream King spins the verse
Sibilance echoes silently
Etched in the stone and sea
Lions are streaming through the walls
Waiting to slay the day
Acrobats caper through the skies
Faces scream 'neath the seas
Serpentine eyes gaze restlessly
Loathing to go or stay
Avatars of the False and True
Spirits unbound by fear
All congregate to stay my hand
Gripping the Monarch's heart
Clenching with power of multitudes
Livid, the current flows
Emptying madness from its core
Tearing the dream apart
To a world where Space and Time are one
Up through depths of joy and pain
Into sunlight, air, and calm, inviting lands
Only to plunge into Dream again.
